This year we plan to incorporate omni-drive into our robot. Our frame shape will be an octagon and we are going to build a manipultator that uses pneumatics. Another great feature that we want to fabricate is a modular electronics board which will allow us to have greater troubleshooting and problem solving control.
Our robot for the Rack n' Roll game was a square fairly stock bot. We designed and built an arm but it didn't function as planned. We ended up changing our strategy at the competition and played more of a defensive game. This year we attempted a modular electronics panel which also ran into complications. One of our favorite parts of this robot was the control box. We had it rhino lined and it turned out great.
Our first robot worked very well. We used a low
profile frame with a "pusher" on a pneumatic
cylinder. We were able to score two tetrahedrons
at a time. For being a rookie team we thoroughly
enjoyed the experience and were pretty proud of
this machine.
