FRC Start!
For those of you who haven't noticed on nthe Calendar, the FRC kick off was January 9th. Thanks to many parent supporters and chaperones we've been able to work until 8pm every night since Monday the 11th. We were able to finalize our drive base design on the 12th, and we've been working on blueprinting and brainstorming other devices on the robot. We're closing in on a final design. Electrical has finished their designs for an electrical panel and have begun work on creating that, currently they have the lexan cut and bracketed together, and they're mounting hardware as I type.
For those of you who have chaperoned, donated to the team, or provided any level of support, we thank you. For those of you who have not, please let us know what we can do to get your support! Right now we're still behind on fundraising, and we've also come into the issue of food at builds. If any of you could provide food or financial donations to the team, please contact myself or my fellow co-captain, Garrett, as always, financial donations are tax deductible, and more than that, all donations, food, time, money, or advice, are very much appreciated by the team. If You're Reading This, We Need Your Help
Hello, my name is Garrett Rodgers and I am the Co-Captain of Fabrication on the Highlanders Robotics team. I have been busy at work assuring that our team is having fun and learning as much as possible in preparation for the competitions. We have already begun work on the FTC bot and we are currently in the process of getting funding for our Robotics travel and registration.
Now the reason we need you help is, we haven't been able to raise enough money thus far. Granted, we still have about another 2 months before the January 9th Kickoff and after that we will be traveling in late February and mid March. The estimated budget we have is $40,000 which you can read more about on the FAQ page. Now you may be asking yourself, "Well, how can I help?" We need everyone's aid in making connections with business partners and sponsors so that we can afford our kit, registration, and travel. If you know anyone or if you yourself can provide any kind of aid, whether it's food during builds, greatly appreciated donations, or just being there to supervise us as we work on our robot. There is so much we need as a team and we understand that during these tough economic times that it's not easy to just do everything you can. We only ask for you to do whatever you are able to. If you're interested in helping out our team, please contact either our coach Mrs. Roxy Menadelook (menadelook_roxy@asdk12.org), our Co-Captain Bryce Mahn (bmahn.hth@gaggle.net), or myself (grodge.hth@gaggle.net) Thank You very much for your time and commitment and we hope to here from you soon.
The Website is complete!
Hello everyone who manages to find and frequent our site! Thankfully we have our website finished to show off to everyone. Currently on our site (which will be subject to many revisions to help our user experience) there is a page for our latest news entries where we hope users will constantly view to get a good idea on recent events, a team page where you can get information on all of our team, a sponsors page where you can see and support our sponsors, a robot page where you can see our past robots (or at least read about them), and a page about our school.
Have fun, and good luck!
